Florida Wants To Stop Drones From Spying

Spy

Senator Joe Negron, has sponsored a bill that is close to passing in legislation for the ban of drones or UAV surveillance in the state of Florida.  The Unmanned Aerial Vehicle is an aircraft that is controlled by computer or by a pilot using remote control.  There is no actual pilot in the drone but it has such technologies that can observe the surface it is covering.  Senator Negron, the Criminal Justice Committee, and its citizens believe drones are an excuse to spy on Floridians.

Apple and Amazon Urged to Reach Settlement

Think outside the box.

Think of this as a teaser for a heavyweight match that will take place in a few months.  A judge has ordered that Apple and Amazon attempt to reach a settlement over use of the word “Appstore” before their big court date in the summer.  Apple, the technology giant, claims that they own rights to the phrase and had already sued the e-commerce site Amazon.com.  A judge had ruled that Apple had no claim to the fictional phrase.  U.S. Magistrate Judge Elizabeth Laporte has urged the two companies to gather this spring in attempts to avoid a later clash over the intellectual property, copyrights, or trademarks.  If no settlement is reached, Apple and Amazon will soon go before a judge in Southern California over using “Appstore”. Whole Foods Treats Autistic Man Like Dog

Wrong at any age

Whole Foods is a market that prides themselves on their environmental and social awareness.  However, one of their employees didn’t get the memo about the “social” awareness.  Emily Goldman and her autistic brother Michael were the victims of extreme insensitivity while shopping at a Whole Foods Market in Milwaukee, WI.  Michael (who has difficulty communicating) swiped some food while the two were shopping.  The security guard on duty saw Michael stealing food and confronted the two shoppers.  When Emily realized what had transpired she immediately apologized, explained her brother’s condition, and offered to pay for the food Michael had taken.  But the security guard responded with a hateful comment.  The security guard exclaimed that Emily and Michael were to leave the store immediately and that they were not allowed to return unless Michael was “on a leash”.  This mentality doesn’t seem very consistent with Whole Food’s core value of “delighting customers”.

Magic Band To Track Behavior at Disney Parks

Now you can spend more at Disney World!

I have this recurring dream where I am in an all white room and fog is surrounding me.  I am holding a goofy doll and panicking.  All of a sudden a huge golfball is approaching me and a crowd of people are racing by.  I start to cry and look for my parents, turning in a circle and getting more scared.  My mom runs up to me and I squeeze her so hard that it wakes me up.  This is a recurring dream because it actually happened to me when I was in Disney World.  Well, thanks to Disney I won’t have to experience this trauma any more.
