Within the past month, consumers of infant products have been warned of the dangers of using certain types of powdered formula and baby loungers. The US Food and Drug Administration has urged parents to review their purchased Similac, Alimentum, or EleCare containers for specific lot numbers and expiration dates, which fall under the Abbott Nutrition’s Sturgis, Michigan facility voluntary recall. In addition, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has warned parents to stop using Leachco, Inc. items that include the Podster, Podster Plush, Bummzie, and Podster Playtime (the “Podsters”) infant loungers. Search for an Unknown Well-Wisher
The thought that we are practically always under surveillance can feel unsettling. The idea may lead us to second guess our internet searches, our purchases in the grocery store, or our text messages to friends and family. Hundreds of reported women throughout the country, however, have recently raised concerns about communication they have received that does not necessarily coincide with their everyday patterns and habits. Their red flags have triggered the search for a “Jenny B” and her reason for sending them coupons, gift cards, and greeting cards. What is the purpose of this kindness? According to the cards, it is to congratulate the women on their recent pregnancies. Initiated in November 1998, the International Space Station is a monumental project, and has served as living quarters to astronauts since the year 2000. Among the valuable scientific research that takes place on the Space Station, it is also home to the first space crime. Anne McClain has recently gained infamy for allegedly tapping into her estranged spouse’s bank account while onboard the Space Station. While no money was stolen from the account, McClain’s spouse, Summer Worden, learned of the invasion of privacy when McClain communicated with Worden about her spending habits. Google+Six Flags Off Track Adventure
A lawsuit has been filed against Six Flags after a roller coaster accident resulted in head injuries for 2 riders. The accident occurred on July 7th when one of the carts on the coaster partially derailed. The roller coaster accident occurred when a tree branch fell on the track, hitting the first car and causing the cart to derail. According to NBC Los Angeles, 22 riders were left suspended for several hours and four people were later treated for injuries.
Google+Lawsuits Claim Cover-Up at Private Youth Prison
There is a growing nationwide trend of prisoners being placed in facilities run by for-profit companies, such as Youth Services International. Florida is at the forefront of this trend, and has elected to privatize all of its youth prisons across the state. “A pair of recent lawsuits against a private youth prison operator in Florida amplify claims that the company, Youth Services International, has frequently covered up reports that staff sexually abused young people held inside its facilities”. In one instance, an administrator at one YSI facility, repeatedly made advances toward adolescent males, and supposedly brought inmates home with him to his personal residence. A second allegation states that a guard at a separate YSI facility began an intimate relationship with a 14-year old prisoner. Read More
