The Cook County Jail in Chicago ignored state law and chose to shackle female prisoners during childbirth, severely limiting movement, causing discomfort and, potentially, harm. Right to Wear a T-Shirt Confirmed for High School Student
An Ohio teenager won the right to wear a "Jesus is not a homophobe" t-shirt at his high school. First forced to reverse the t-shirt during a gay rights awareness day at school, he was later threatened with suspension should he wear the shirt again. Today, the young man won in settlement both $20,000 and the right to wear the shirt.
