The woman who brought a lawsuit against Florida State’s quarterback is heading back to the courtroom. Citing a “hostile educational environment”, the plaintiff became famous for accusing the college’s athletic department for covering up rape allegations against Jameis Winston, the man under center for the Seminoles as they went undefeated in 2014. She cites Title IX, a civil rights law protecting the rights of all students under the Higher Education Amendment of 1972. The woman claims Winston, the 2013 Heisman Trophy Winner, sexually harassed her in 2012, but a case was never filed at the time. This latest lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida in Orlando.
Gilberto Valle’s sick and disturbing fetish is described by his defense lawyer Julia Gatto as a, “vibrant subculture of role playing.” Gatto is taking an extreme angle defending Valle in his actions of using police databases to find, kidnap, rape, and cannibalize about 100 women. They are resting on the mere fact that Valle never acted on his thoughts and how can you convict someone for simply talking and thinking about killing women.
There has been some alarming news in Philadelphia this morning. A five year old elementary student was kidnapped, assaulted, and raped by a 19 year-old daycare worker. Christina Regusters, the daycare worker, allegedly wrapped herself in a Muslim veil, similar to what the five year old’s mother wears, and took the student out of class. They then proceeded to a nearby house where the girl was told to strip, put on a long t-shirt, and hide under the covers. Regusters apparently dropped the five year old 18 hours later at a nearby park.
I mean, Central Park was never safe after dark but now the danger has creeped up in the middle of the day. A 73 year old woman birdwatching off a path near Strawberry Fields was raped and robbed of her camera. The sick part about it is that this was not the first encounter that she had with this gentleman. Earlier in the week she spotted him in Central Park exposing himself. She took a picture to show authorities and would not delete it after he told her to. In retaliation to the photo bomb he found the 73 year old woman again in the park birdwatching. The rapist asked an alarming question, “Do you remember me?” before proceeding to beat and sexually assault the woman. Eric Ozawa found the woman and called the police after she informed him she had been raped. The man that sexually assaulted the woman was identified as in his 40’s, white, with a Russian or Ukrainian accent.
