Sex: Like Taking Candy From A Baby

Well, well, well.  Is anyone really surprised that there has been a sex crime committed in the U.S. Army?  I’m sure not.  Hopefully, there is enough evidence to bring Brigadier General Jeffrey Sinclair to military court.  He faces charges of forcible sodomy, wrongful sexual conduct, and engaging in inappropriate relationships.  A married captain and once a subordinate of Sinclair testified against the General.  They apparently had a three year relationship in which they had sexual relations in Iraq, Germany, Afghanistan and Fort Bragg, North Carolina.  Sinclair took advantage of his superiority, sexually harassing the captain and four other women in the past five years.  The captain claims that she had sex with Sinclair with pleasure but that he had forced her more than once to perform oral sex.  He had also threatened to kill her and her family when she tried to end the affair.

Sinclair’s superior Major General James Huggins started the investigation after the captain came clean about her affair with a married General Sinclair.  He had been suspicious of the General after he asked specifically that the captain be transferred under his command.  Sinclair was brought to court and snickered at the accusations the captain was making when she was on the stand.  In his great misfortune, he is also being charged with possessing pornography and deleting emails under investigation.  What?  Why would he do that if he is innocent?

He is supposed to be a great leader and mentor?  I certainly can’t see him as that.  He has taken advantage of an inferior based on his authority and deemed it O.K. because he is a General of the U.S. Army.  Whoop-de-do!  On what right does he have as a human to coerce a woman in to sexual relations with him.  He manipulated this woman because he could.  A man like this does not deserve to be in our Army let alone a General.
