Monsanto’s Weed-Killer Does Not Just Kill Weeds

You are what you eat

Missouri-based agrochemical company, Monsanto, has for years marketed their Roundup weed-killer as both safe and non-toxic. Farmers have relied on the product to kill the harmful weeds that damage crops. Due to the genetically modified nature of the crops that farmers plant, the crops are immune to the potentially damaging ingredients of Roundup. While the crops have remained unaffected, the farmers or residents who live in farm communities have experienced deadly side effects. Read more

The ever-growing festival craze sparked the initiative of entrepreneur Billy McFarland to establish a new festival outside of the country, in the Bahamas. Other successful festivals remain grounded in the US, such as Coachella in Indio, CA, Firefly in Dover, DE, and Bonnaroo in Manchester, TN. While those US festivals exhibit popular attendance with minimal, yet organized, accommodations, McFarland’s festival has resulted in a bundle of lawsuits. Read more

Former Cheerleaders for the team initiated a class action lawsuit against the NFL for unfair payment of wages. Gatehouse Media Publishes Terms for a Settlement

A reluctance to disclose all terms of a contract or deal may be perceived as deceptive and unethical. By not outlining the specifics of the subscriptions to various publications, Massachusetts born Gatehouse Media LLC has violated the consumer rights of its subscribers. The customers’ expectations did not match what the company actually offered.  The plaintiffs of the class action lawsuit purchased either one-year or 26-week subscriptions, but also received magazines that did not pertain to the same genre or interests of the publications they purchased. United Airlines Scandals Continue

Will United fly high again?

Affected passengers of United Airlines have taken their complaints to the court room. A recent lawsuit was filed by graduate student, Karen Shiboleth, against the controversial company. Shiboleth argues that she was abruptly removed from her seat in business-class, and placed in another seat toward the rear of the plane. The reason for the seat change was not provided to her, as she was escorted to the back of the plane with force. Read more
