A hoppy beer

Tensions are brewing between a minor shareholder and a pair of majority owners of a Charlton, Massachusetts-based brewery.  Viewed as one of the most well-known and best tasting craft beer producers, Tree House Brewing Co. is ranked among the top breweries around the world.  Since 2011, owners Nathan P. Lanier and Damien L. Goudreau claim to have worked endlessly on nights, weekends, and holidays to grow the craft brewery to what it is today.  Despite their efforts, the last remaining minor shareholder, Eric Granger, is accusing Lanier and Goudreau of rewarding themselves excessively.

Elevator accident

In this real-life Tower of Terror nightmare, an injured man recounts his terrifying elevator experience that left him permanently scarred, unable to earn future wages, and incapable of coping with the mental and physical anguish he has endured following the incident.  In July 2022, while visiting Walt Disney World with his daughter, guest Michael Johnson entered a faulty parking garage elevator that malfunctioned and jerked violently.  The elevator is located in Disney Springs, a shopping and dining complex.  Johnson, a Florida resident, is suing for $50,000 in compensatory damages.

A lot to unpack

A California-based moving company is facing a job discrimination lawsuit that may prove debilitating.  Despite former efforts to reach a settlement, in which the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) sought $5 million, and Meathead Movers offered $750,000, the EEOC has announced its progression of a lawsuit against the company.  In its claim, the EEOC alleges that since 2017, Meathead Movers intentionally only hired younger employees and established an exclusive roster of strong athlete-type workers under the age of 40.  The company has countered these claims with an equally strong argument.

Football injury

A week before Thanksgiving, the Cincinnati Bengals suffered a loss that is likely to significantly impact the rest of the football season.  Not only did the team lose the game against the Baltimore Ravens, but in the second quarter, the Bengals’ star quarterback, Joe Burrow, exited the game with an apparent wrist injury.  The issue that has thrown the NFL and fans into an uproar is the suspicion that Burrow sustained the injury prior to the game on Thursday, November 16.  The NFL is now investigating the team’s compliance.

Botched cosmetic procedure

A Salt Lake City entrepreneur has taken her role as a cast member on The Real Housewives to a level of legal proportion.  When she is not vacationing on girls’ trips and arguing at plated meals with her fellow housewives, Heather Gay devotes her time as the co-owner of Beauty Lab + Laser, a Utah-based company that offers cosmetic enhancements, such as Botox, lip injections, fillers, contouring, sculpturing treatments, and hair restoration, among other services.  Otherwise viewed as a successful business, a recent lawsuit has led to the company’s potential harm and lost revenue.
