Reality home conflict

The scandal that rocked the reality TV world last year has earned an additional layer of drama, as one of the core players involved, Ariana Madix, sues the culprit of deceit, Tom Sandoval.  Labeled as one of the most despised men on television, Sandoval was accused of and later admitted to stepping away from his girlfriend of nine years to engage in a months-long dalliance with one of the former pair’s co-stars.  The Vanderpump Rules conflict unfolded on-screen, on social media, and on and on and on.  With the season 11 premiere only a few days away, Madix has incorporated legal matters into the storyline.

Stolen fashion designs?

Headquartered in Singapore, the online fashion retailer Shein has been under legal scrutiny for its apparent knockoff items that look exactly like the creative works produced by known fashion designers.  Three US designers have filed a lawsuit, accusing the company of committing copyright infringement at such a remarkably destructive rate that it embodies racketeering.  Although the amount of compensatory damages sought has not formally been disclosed to the public, the designers are asking for an injunction to cease the infringement and prevent the business activity from continuing.  They claim that Shein is in violation of the RICO Act.

The Brown Act enforces government operated or funded entities, such as the school district and the San Francisco Board of Education, to discuss business measures in open meetings. The Friends of Lowell Foundation has now teamed up with two additional associations to request an injunction related to the case. Continue reading

The spotlight is shining on country music star, Blake Shelton; and not for the reason you might think.  Due to the results of a recent lawsuit, Shelton must alter his bar and restaurant’s red exterior lighting.  Old Red Nashville is placed at the heart of Lower Broadway in Nashville, among the various honky tonks and restaurants that line the street.  Shelton opened two other restaurant / bars of the same name in Tishomingo, Oklahoma and Gatlinburg, Tennessee.  While each establishment has their own unique designs and characteristics, all of the restaurants follow the same red color palette and lighting.  Continue reading
