Elevator accident

In this real-life Tower of Terror nightmare, an injured man recounts his terrifying elevator experience that left him permanently scarred, unable to earn future wages, and incapable of coping with the mental and physical anguish he has endured following the incident.  In July 2022, while visiting Walt Disney World with his daughter, guest Michael Johnson entered a faulty parking garage elevator that malfunctioned and jerked violently.  The elevator is located in Disney Springs, a shopping and dining complex.  Johnson, a Florida resident, is suing for $50,000 in compensatory damages.

Claim Moving Forward

A lot to unpack

A California-based moving company is facing a job discrimination lawsuit that may prove debilitating.  Despite former efforts to reach a settlement, in which the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) sought $5 million, and Meathead Movers offered $750,000, the EEOC has announced its progression of a lawsuit against the company.  In its claim, the EEOC alleges that since 2017, Meathead Movers intentionally only hired younger employees and established an exclusive roster of strong athlete-type workers under the age of 40.  The company has countered these claims with an equally strong argument.

Football injury

A week before Thanksgiving, the Cincinnati Bengals suffered a loss that is likely to significantly impact the rest of the football season.  Not only did the team lose the game against the Baltimore Ravens, but in the second quarter, the Bengals’ star quarterback, Joe Burrow, exited the game with an apparent wrist injury.  The issue that has thrown the NFL and fans into an uproar is the suspicion that Burrow sustained the injury prior to the game on Thursday, November 16.  The NFL is now investigating the team’s compliance.

A Salt Lake City entrepreneur has taken her role as a cast member on The Real Housewives to a level of legal proportion.  When she is not vacationing on girls’ trips and arguing at plated meals with her fellow housewives, Heather Gay devotes her time as the co-owner of Beauty Lab + Laser, a Utah-based company that offers cosmetic enhancements, such as Botox, lip injections, fillers, contouring, sculpturing treatments, and hair restoration, among other services.  Otherwise viewed as a successful business, a recent lawsuit has led to the company’s potential harm and lost revenue.

Medical Access Denied

To insure or not to insure?

For those with health insurance, the final three months of the annual calendar year may ignite a sense of urgency to schedule appointments and utilize benefits, such as a free eye exam or 100% coverage after a deductible is paid.  In the case of two now-deceased elderly insurance holders, however, conflict may arise if owed benefits are not honored.  According to a recent lawsuit filed against UnitedHealth, elderly patients were not provided the care afforded under their Medicare Advantage Plans.  An artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm is the alleged reason for the denial.
