The United States seems to have a severe issue wasting food. Studies show that Americans waste approximately $165 Billion in food each year. That comes out to about $2,200 wasted per household. That quantity comes out to about 33 million tons of food or 66,000,000,000 lbs (that’s a lot of zeros). Americans have apparently subconsciously adopted the, “If I can’t have it nobody can,” mentality.

NY Newspaper Hires Armed Guards After Recent Expose of Local Gun Owners
Shortly after the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre, Westchester, NY based newspaper, The Journal News, published the names and addresses of all licensed gun owners in the county. This was met with some support, but also harsh criticism. In response, The Journal News, deemed it necessary to hire armed guards for the protection of its property and employees. Pizza Hut Delivery Man Fights Back!
It comes as no surprise that delivering pizza can be a dangerous job. A college kid walking around an unfamiliar neighborhood in the middle of the night with a pocket full of cash and a hot pizza in his hand can be a tantalizing target. Sam Swicegood, a former Pizza Hut delivery man knew just how dangerous his job could potentially be. Sam was attacked one night by five teenagers while trying to deliver a pizza. But after being sucker-punched, the prepared delivery man whipped out a tent pole from his sleeve and frantically swung at his attackers defending both himself and the pizza. His act of self-defense proved effective when the teenagers fled from the pipe wielding delivery man.
Pinterest Stuck With New Lawsuit
The latest legal battle in social media could be a pretty sharp one. The popular photo-sharing network Pinterest is being sued by a man claiming that a potential investor stole his ideas. Theodore Schroeder of Ocean City, NJ cites that he met with several people while attempting to expand on his idea of a “board”-related social media site, called RendezVoo. One of these venture capitalists was Brian Cohen, who eventually went on to make a deal with Pinterest which included, Schroeder claims, his own intellectual property. Mr. Schroeder is seeking monetary compensation upwards of $75,000, stating that it took time, money, and other resources for him to continue his attempts to build RendezVoo. Pinterest has countered saying the lawsuit, filed right around the holidays, is “baseless”. Read more
