{"id":7974,"date":"2019-10-28T11:24:39","date_gmt":"2019-10-28T15:24:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.lawyer.com\/?p=7974"},"modified":"2020-04-20T10:29:13","modified_gmt":"2020-04-20T14:29:13","slug":"pitt-needs-to-make-it-right","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.lawyer.com\/index.php\/pitt-needs-to-make-it-right\/","title":{"rendered":"Pitt Needs to Make It Right"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_8220\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8220\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.lawyer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/house.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-8220\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.lawyer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/house-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.lawyer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/house-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.lawyer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/house-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.lawyer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/house-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blog.lawyer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/house-450x300.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-8220\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Constructing a sound lawsuit<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Brad Pitt is in the spotlight again, and the reason is something other than promoting a new movie.\u00a0A lawsuit filed on behalf of several victims of Hurricane Katrina are taking action against Pitt and his charitable organization, Make It Right.\u00a0 In an effort to assist those devastatingly impacted by Hurricane Katrina, Pitt\u2019s foundation built homes to replace the structures lost in the hurricane.\u00a0 According to the lawsuit, the homes constructed by the organization are quickly deteriorating.\u00a0 Although many victims are left to live in homes that are apparently unlivable, Brad Pitt is denouncing all responsibility and involvement in the alleged neglect.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Originally filed in September 2018, the <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/home\/judge-refuses-to-remove-brad-pitt-from-lawsuit-over-hurricane-katrina-victims-deteriorating-homes\/\">lawsuit<\/a> names Brad Pitt as a defendant.\u00a0 In Pitt\u2019s defense, his lawyer argues that the plaintiffs have not provided enough substantial evidence to prove Pitt\u2019s direct correlation to the inadequate construction of the homes.\u00a0 The emotional turmoil endured by the homeowners is arguably not strong enough to establish Pitt\u2019s involvement.
