{"id":7876,"date":"2019-06-18T13:27:39","date_gmt":"2019-06-18T17:27:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.lawyer.com\/?p=7876"},"modified":"2020-04-21T08:47:04","modified_gmt":"2020-04-21T12:47:04","slug":"all-animals-deserve-a-fairlife","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.lawyer.com\/index.php\/all-animals-deserve-a-fairlife\/","title":{"rendered":"All Animals Deserve a Fairlife"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_8262\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8262\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.lawyer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/cow.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-8262\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.lawyer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/cow-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.lawyer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/cow-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.lawyer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/cow-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.lawyer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/cow-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blog.lawyer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/cow-450x300.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-8262\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Udder chaos<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Despite the claim that Fairlife milk is derived from cows that receive the utmost care, video evidence proves the cows are cruelly mistreated by farm hands.\u00a0One consumer filed a lawsuit against Fair Oaks Farms and Fairlife, alleging fraud and deceptive marketing of their product.\u00a0 The lawsuit has gained federal class-action status and was filed on June 11.\u00a0 In addition to Fair Oaks Farms, Fairlife works with about 30 other suppliers, and intends to audit each before the middle of July.\u00a0 Regardless of the claim in the lawsuit, Fairlife still <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indystar.com\/story\/news\/2019\/06\/13\/fair-oaks-farms-animal-abuse-videos-milk-drinker-sues-misleading-false-advertising-labels\/1445080001\/\">promotes<\/a> their company as one that is \u201ccommitted to the humane and compassionate care of animals.\u201d\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In graphic videos and photos that have gone viral, Fair Oaks Farms employees are caught kicking, dragging, and throwing the young calves.\u00a0 While tending to the calves, the employees use drugs, grow marijuana plants on the farm property, and neglect the animals\u2019 living conditions.\u00a0 After this story was unearthed, one of the Fair Oaks Farms employees was arrested for animal abuse and four employees have been fired from their positions.\u00a0 In response to the outpour of negative feedback, farm owner Mike McCloskey insisted that he was not aware of the abuse taking place on his farm.\u00a0 He claims to have taken the proper steps to ensure this <a href=\"https:\/\/katu.com\/news\/nation-world\/police-investigate-alleged-animal-abuse-at-famous-farm\">behavior<\/a> will not be repeated at Fair Oaks Farms, located in Indiana.<\/p>\n<p>Combined with the arrest of an employee and the filing of a class action lawsuit, retailers and animal rights activists are also administering their own consequences to Fairlife.\u00a0 The obvious abuse exhibited in the leaked videos has convinced Strack &amp;
