You aren\u2019t alone\u2014and if you are a Cablevision customer a lot of unfairness has been flying under the radar.<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> However, the injustice is coming to an end. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more Read More--><\/p>\n<p>On September 12, 2016, the Court held a public Final Fairness Hearing in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. This isn\u2019t about custody of a remote control, no unfortunately this is about consumers claiming that Cablevision business practices resulted in subscribers paying higher prices. This settlement is applicable to not one consumer but all New Jersey consumers for Cablevision\u2019s cable TV set-top boxes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cableboxsettlement.com\/\">The settlement<\/a> will offer credits for services or if the customer prefers, a one-time bill credit to current Cablevision subscribers. Visit the settlement\u2019s website for more details about benefit distribution.<\/p>\n<p>Though there are exceptions in this settlement, as of right now, the settlement includes customers in New Jersey, Connecticut and New York who subscribed to Cablevision and were ultimately charged a monthly fee to lease a Set-Top Box at any time from April 30, 2004 to March 9, 2016. Make sure to read the settlement website carefully as your legal rights are affected even if you do not act.
