Contract dispute<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Several of the stars from ABC’s hit sitcom Modern Family have recently\u00a0reached an agreement<\/a> regarding their contracts at 20th Century Fox. As a result of violation of California labor laws the cast has filed suit claiming that their contracts could not last longer than seven years. It seems that the lawsuit served as a strategic ploy to have the actors’ contracts declared null and void in order to renegotiate new salaries. \u00a0The stars, who originally made\u00a0around $65,000 per episode<\/a>\u00a0are expected to have their salaries increased to $175,000 per episode for the upcoming 4th season. With 22 episodes, that puts each star’s yearly earning at $3.85 million.<\/p>\n

“I value our cast greatly,” Levitan said. “I’m happy about their success. They’re a huge part of our success, obviously, and I’m happy that they’re going to get what they deserve.” \u00a0Ironically, if Ty Burrell has learned anything from show\u00a0it’s how to negotiate his script for his television counterpart.<\/p>\n
