False arrests
Trooper of the year in Salt Lake City, Utah is now up against a lawsuit for false DUI charges for over 1500 people. Lisa Steed had made over 400 arrests in 2009 beating out most of the state of Utah and receiving recognition from the state, but I guess she pulled a fast one over everyone’s heads. Now, many who were arrested by the hands of Steed are coming forward to complain of the charges that were raised against them.

Authorities say that there was no motive Ali Syed’s shooting spree in Orange, California. Ali Syed, a 20 year-old student, shot and killed three people and injuring four in the early morning of February 19, 2013.

There has been some alarming news in Philadelphia this morning. A five year old elementary student was kidnapped, assaulted, and raped by a 19 year-old daycare worker. Christina Regusters, the daycare worker, allegedly wrapped herself in a Muslim veil, similar to what the five year old’s mother wears, and took the student out of class. They then proceeded to a nearby house where the girl was told to strip, put on a long t-shirt, and hide under the covers. Regusters apparently dropped the five year old 18 hours later at a nearby park.

After all the hustle and bustle it seems that Christopher Dorner could possibly have been killed in a cabin fire where he took shelter. There had been a $1 million reward to bring in Dorner, but officials found a stolen vehicle and located his whereabouts. They tracked him to a cabin where a shootout had started. Apparently there was a shot fired and smoke devices thrown in to the cabin. The cabin burst in to flames and had been burning for hours throughout the night. Now, authorities need to wait for the body to cool in order to identify the body. LAPD claim that his wallet was found close to the body with his ID and drivers license.
On the hunt!
Not too long ago the LAPD had seen Christopher Dorner as one of their own. Now, they are labeling him as a “domestic terrorist” and “cop killer.” Dorner is a former Naval Reserve lieutenant and part of the Mobile Inshore Undersea Warfare Unit, where he mastered mobile radar and sonar. These techniques have been used for such missions as Operation Desert Storm/Sheild. Because Dorner is so skilled this makes the recent events more risky and critical in the hunt to find him. I use the word hunt because the LAPD has decided to use drones to locate Mr. Droner.
