Joe Biden to Respond to Newton School Shooting and Gun Control

Let there be peace

Vice President Joe Biden is supposed to speak in response to the Newton, Connecticut shooting of 20 children and six teachers.  In Obama’s speech during the services for the children and teachers he said that he wanted to, “use whatever this power holds,” in order to keep this incident from happening again.  Today Biden will address not only gun control but also that of mental health illnesses.

The biggest issue that will be discussed is gun control.  Supporters of anti-gun control are even hopping on the bandwagon and are ready for some legislation changes.  Safety is a huge concern for the majority of the senators.  Dianne Feinstein, a senator from California, is going to introduce a ban on assault weapons.  And West Virginia Senator, Joe Manchin, who is a gun owner and hunter explains, “I don’t know anyone in the sporting or hunting arena that goes out with an assault rifle.”

Although, not everyone is happy with the new proposal for gun control.  Gun users have gone out and bought assault weapons for fear that the new legislation will ban it.  The ban could limit the amount of ammunition bought and also make it harder to buy a gun a trade shows with no background check.  Why any one sell a gun without a background check on some one is beyond me.  But hopefully the new proposed legislation will cover all of these questions.
