Film’s Failure Exposed

A doomed movie

Eva Green, known for her characters in Casino Royale, Dark Shadows, and Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, is now starring in a new lawsuit against White Lantern Films and SMC Speciality Finance.  In response to the failed production of the proposed movie, A Patriot, Green is suing for $1 million in damages.  The defendant has filed a counterclaim and contends that the actress breached her contract and forced unrealistic demands that were difficult to provide.  The production company claims that Green did not intend to move forward with filming, which was to begin in 2019. Following a sideline injury sustained in Game 6 of the regular season, Denver Broncos linebacker, Aaron Patrick, has filed a lawsuit. In the argument, Patrick alleges that the decision to cover media wires on the sideline with a cheap mat created a dangerous situation for players and was the primary cause of his injury. While a majority of NFL injuries take place on the field, Patrick tore his ACL after trying to avoid the media. His cleat became lodged in a carpet that has been compared to mats used in restaurant kitchens. Continue reading

A well-known commentator for the Golf Channel, Brandel Chamblee, has gone out of bounds with his rhetoric against golf pro, Patrick Reed, and is now facing a $750 million defamation lawsuit. Chamblee’s involvement in the lawsuit, which has also named the Golf Channel as a defendant, is arguably inevitable, as the announcer has allegedly butchered Reed’s professional reputation since the golfer was 23 years old. The critical objective in the complaint is to address instances of Chamblee providing false reporting and exhibiting a purposeful omission of facts with the intent of misleading the public. At the beginning of this month, followers of the intriguing legal spectacle, starring Amber Heard and Johnny Depp, were provided coverage of a verdict that left Depp $15 million richer. Despite the resolution of this defamation lawsuit, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor cannot shy away from the limelight. Before it escalates to court, Depp is attempting to settle a lawsuit in which he is named as the defendant in an alleged assault incident. His legal team is working diligently to work out an agreement with the plaintiff, Gregg Brooks, who was employed as the location manager on the set of the crime thriller, City of Lies. Resort Slopes to an Agreement

An upscale Montana ski resort has entered a settlement with several seasonal workers who claimed they were discriminated against and cheated out of their tips and wages. During the winter months between 2017 and 2018, the group of visiting workers from Jamaica maintained positions in the hospitality, food and bar departments as housekeepers, cooks, servers, and bartenders. Despite the promise of potentially receiving between $400 and $600 a night, the workers were not able to collect the full amount of their tips or service charges. The defendants named in the lawsuit, which was filed in 2018, have agreed to pay $1 million in legal fees and compensation to the workers. Continue reading
