The settlement, reached by an appellate court overseen by a three Judge panel upheld the previous ruling of Judge Anita B. Brody of The United States District Court. Brody had overseen the vast majority of individual cases against the NFL that were combined in Philadelphia over three years ago.

Wells Fargo to Pay 1.2 Billion

Settling claims that stem from an intense period of mortgage fraud, Wells Fargo has agreed to pay 1.2 Billion dollars in the wake of a major US Lawsuit. The Lawsuit, filed in Federal court details misconduct riddled throughout the counties largest mortgage lender and the subsequent practices they implemented during a period of time between 2001 and 2005. The “reckless” underwriting policies include a failure to report over 6,000 loans from 2002 to 2010 that simply did not meet regulatory standards. Failure to review these deals led to a slew of early payment defaults. Brought to court by Preet Bharara of Manhattan, this is just one of the many similar suits following the fallout from mortgages insured through the Federal Housing Administration, or FHA.

Tom Cruise Sues Life & Style, In Touch

Following two recent headlines in two publications, Tom Cruise has elected to file a Lawsuit for 50 Million dollars. The Lawsuit, which claims damages against the highly esteemed Hollywood Actor, lays in the wake of a “disgusting, vicious lie” according to Cruise’s Lawyer, Bert Fields. Both Life & Style and In Touch Magazines, which ran the stories are owned and operated by Bauer Publishing. The tabloid magazines ran similar headlines in early October surrounding Cruise, his 6 year old daughter Suri and his now ex-wife, Katie Holmes. Life and Style alleged “Suri in tears: Abandoned by her Dad” while In Touch added “Abandoned by Daddy.” Cruise’s Lawyer confirmed the suit publicly, and added a statement to TMZ detailing where the news organizations had gone wrong.

Western Foreigners Charged with Public Indecency in Malaysia

In what was originally thought to be a harmless prank while traveling abroad, four Westerners have been accused of causing an earthquake in Malaysia last week. The claim comes from Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Joseph Pairin Kitingan. Mr. Kitingan hails from a near by community that holds the damaged mountain in particularly high esteem. The locals view the mountain as a final resting place for the dead. The lascivious actions of the foreigners were regarded as extremely disrespectful. The earthquake, with a magnitude of 5.9 claimed the life of 18 climbers. It has also damaged a beloved near by rock formation known as “Donkey’s Ears.”
