IVC Filters Cannot Prevent Pending Lawsuits

For every new medication or pharmaceutical device, there is a list of side effects. In the case of implantable vena cava (IVC) filters, C.R. Bard and Bard Peripheral Vascular, Inc. downplayed the risks involved in keeping the filters in bodies extending past a few months. The purpose of the IVC filters is to stop blood clots that may result in death. Despite the caution involved, filters were implanted for long-term use in the 1970s. In the early 2000’s, the FDA approved the short-term use of IVC filters. It was possible for patients to receive the filter implants, even if taking medication was an alternative remedy. Read more

Leggings have become a staple in the closets and wardrobes of many individuals within the last few years. A reliable pair of leggings may compare to a favorite pair of jeans, but only if they last. Unhappy customers of clothing company, LuLaRoe, are appalled at the damaged fabric of their leggings. Customer reviews contain pictures and complaints of the $25 leggings, where holes and rips appear at the seams and in the middle of the pant legs. Not only are the customers annoyed with LuLaRoe’s lack of compassion, but they are also disappointed with the company’s reluctance to issue refunds. Many unsatisfied customers either received already damaged leggings upon delivery, or the leggings tear while being worn for the first time. Read more

Residents Receive Clean Water Resolution

Flint, MI has gained national, negative recognition as the lead poisoned town with a contaminated water supply. A poor decision was made in 2014, to gather untreated river water as a source of the town’s potable water. This would serve as a temporary solution while a new pipeline to Lake Huron was constructed. The untreated river caused astronomically high levels of lead in Flint’s residents. Read More
